Summary  

 Responsible for the day-to-day operation of assigned program and liaison with client.

Essential Functions  

  1. Oversee the day-to-day operation of assigned program and act as liaison with client. 
  2. Develop and execute on new business marketing and sales plans.
  3. Travel regionally to participate directly in sales/marketing efforts to achieve program growth objectives
  4.  Coordinate program service needs with departments including, but not limited to, marketing, sales, underwriting, customer service, claims, loss control, and accounting.
  5. In conjunction with client, prepare annual service plans detailing the service to be provided, deadlines and expected outcomes.
  6. Communicate program information/results to client and regional and corporate management.
  7. Provide direct supervision to assigned staff.
  8.   Prepare and deliver presentations for client board meetings.
  9. Assist in the preparation of Coverage Document changes, enhancements and modifications to address client needs and create competitive advantages.
  10. Oversee the timely delivery of services by all internal and external service providers.
  11. Assist in the development and updates of individual program management guidelines, tasks and responsibilities for assigned program.
  12. Assist Pool Director with Reinsurance placement.
  13. Communicate with reinsurers regarding quarterly reports, annual audits and underwriting issues.
  14. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements  

  1. Bachelor’s degree with at least five years of commercial insurance experience in sales and management.  Work experience with municipalities strongly preferred. 
  2.  Must have, or is willing to work towards obtaining the Associate in Risk Management (ARM), Chartered Property & Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) or Certified Insurance Consultant (CIC) designation from the Insurance Institute of America.
  3. Must have a Nebraska Property/Casualty Producer license and a Nebraska Consultant’s license.
  4. Proficient in common business Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and Power Point.
  5. Must have demonstrated leadership in sales and service roles including the ability to articulate program benefits and competitive advantages in competitive presentations.
  6. In-depth knowledge of the insurance industry.
  7. Ability to maintain composure in stressful situations.
  8. Excellent oral and written communication skills.  Must be at ease presenting to members, prospective members, Boards of Directors and seminars.
  9. Excellent organization and time management skills.
  10. Frequent travel by car in Nebraska.  Must possess and maintain a good driving record and valid driver’s license.
