Summary  

The essential job function of the Senior Premium Auditor is to ensure audits are completed correctly and returned on a timely basis while resolving any audit disputes within assigned authority and responding to inquiry by Agents, Vendors, Insured and Company staff to ensure that commercial insurance policies are audited in accordance with regulatory requirements. 

Essential Functions  

The Senior Premium Auditor will be responsible for conducting physical audits by reviewing the

classification, financial stability, operations and ownership of each named insured, confirming all

locations and adhering to state and manual requirements.  In addition, the Senior Premium Auditor will

work with Underwriting to alert them of changes in financial stability, adequacy of premium deposits

and accuracy of classifications, locations, operations and named insureds, determine if

employer/employee relationship exits on risks and reports on risk exposures which are not shown on the

policy contract and makes coverage/premium charges as required. The Senior Premium Auditor will be

responsible for recommending to underwriting management the decision to terminate coverage or take

corrective action if insureds records are inadequate, the financial situation is unsatisfactory, the

insureds premises or operations are unsatisfactory, or the insured is uncooperative.  The candidate will

also be required to maintain familiarity with all insurance manuals, premium audit manuals, handbooks,

guides and related materials and perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements  

 

All candidates must have a BA/BS Degree in Business or Accounting (or equivalent work experience), twelve semester hours or eighteen quarter hours of accounting at a college level and five (5) or more years Premium Audit experience.  Candidates must have the ability to travel, work in hot conditions (California) and speak both the Spanish & English Languages.  Our ideal candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills and the ability to work independently.  In addition, all applicants must have solid PC and laptop skills, the ability to effectively use Microsoft Office products, Internet, vendor software, and the Meadowbrook Advantage system.
