We are looking for a full time Senior Application Developer to join our Westerville, Ohio office.

 

Essential Functions  
  1. Participate in project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts, quality assurance analysts and team members to analyze and thoroughly understand business requirements; design solutions.
  2. Implement code in accordance with best practices and coding guidelines; provide accurate coding estimates as requested; test, troubleshoot and debug code.
  3. Plan and schedule workload to meet assigned targeted dates.
  4. Document code and tickets, adhering to documentation standards; develop test plans, application documentation, and technical specifications.
  5. Research, recommend, and implement best practices, coding guidelines, and software tools to management.
  6. Identify and reduce development risks, performance problems and downtime.
  7. Communicate both orally and in writing with business analysts, project managers, IT team memebers, outside venders, and others regarding project/ticket statuses, notifications or general inquiries.
  8. Ability to write proposals or make technical presentations regarding new technology and processes.
  9. Must be able to function in a team-oriented atmosphere.
  10. Research and stay abreast of current technology trends, functionality and implementation relevant to the corporate applications and technology. 
  11. Maintain a thorough understanding of insurance business functions associated to the corporate applications.

 

Requirements  
  1. The ideal candidate must have either a BS Degree in Information technology or equivalent experience
  2. 5+years with ASP.Net, C#, ADO.NET, AJAX, XML, JavaScript
  3. 5+years with SQL Server 2005/2008 including stored procedures, functions and schema design
  4. Experience with Microsoft Team Foundation Server, BizTalk, IIS, Adobe Forms Server, Adobe Live Cycle Designer, Web Services/WCF, and CSLA are a plus
  5. Expert knowledge with website development, databases and design of complex multi-tier applications
  6. Experience with the more current versions of Visual Studio and .Net
  7. Experience with all aspects of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  8. Strong ability to quickly learn existing application code and architect
  9. Experience with mentoring, training and being the go-to person for resolving technical issues
